Church Construction
During
the Communist regime very strict restrictions were imposed on building
churches. This is why in large cities, of over 200,000 people, there are only a
handful of evangelical churches and in many smaller towns or villages there are
few or no evangelical church buildings.
With the new freedom gained after 1989, there is a tremendous need to
build churches.

Adopt-a-Student
Romania, like all of Eastern Europe, is now wide open to the Gospel and therefore pastors,
missionaries and Christian workers are desperately needed. In following
Christ's example to choose and train disciples to proclaim the message of the
Gospel, RMS seeks to assist dedicated young men and women who respond to the
call of God for Christian service.

Sponsor-a-Pastor
In a country of over 20 million people, there are only 4,000 evangelical
churches in Romania, but
less than 2,000 pastors. There are about 12,000 villages and towns without an
evangelical church.
It is very common for Romanian pastors who work
outside of main cities to serve in 3 - 5 churches, and among these there are
usually 1 or 2 pioneer church plants. Most of these churches are in rural areas
and because of the difficult economic situation they cannot provide an adequate
salary for the pastor.
