Dr. Cristian Chirla, Chairman
Brief Bio
Born
in Oradea, Romania, Cristian immigrated with his family when he was 17 years
old. His undergraduate years at Lynchburg University gave him a Bachelors
degree in Biology and Chemistry. Yet, he would soon realize that the impact
those years had on his life reached beyond that: it sealed his heart and love
for the ministry.
He
married Adina in 1992. Their family was blessed with 4 children, but one day
the Lord asked Cristian to open his arms and hand Him their first daughter.
That was to be yet another stepping stone in Cristian's life. In 1997 he
graduated from Case Western University School of Dental Medicine and was
blessed with a succesful practice in Ohio, in the Cleveland-Akron area. The
Lord placed three passions in his life: his family, the ministry, and
practicing dentistry!
Valentin Hossu, Secretary-Treasurer
Brief Bio
Val Hossu grew up in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, where he also studied Mechanical Engineering then emigrated to the U.S. in 1982.
He earned a BS and MS in Computer Science from Illinois Institute of Technology and is currently a Systems Engineer with Lucent Technologies.
Mr. Hossu has been involved with RMS since his early days of adjustment to the U.S. He helped configure RMS' very first personal computer using it to proofread book manuscripts. He also assisted in the production of radio programs for broadcast by Radio Free Europe into Romania.
Val is married to Corina and they have one son, Philip.
Dr. Bob Lowman
Brief Bio
Bob Lowman is a native of North Carolina and serves currently as Executive Director /Associational Missionary for the Metrolina Baptist Association, in Charlotte NC. He is an ordained minister as has also served as pastor in a number of churches in North Carolina. He holds degrees from Wingate University (B.A.), Southeastern Baptist theological Seminary (M. Div.) and Gordon-Conwell Seminary (D. Min.).
His first encounter with Romania was a mission trip to Romania, in 1982, while he was a student at Wingate University. He is married to Karla, who is also mission minded, having participated in many short term mission trips, even to eastern Europe. They have two daughters – Rachel Elizabeth and Jessica Lee.
